Faithwalkers

I hope you are all keeping well and have been enjoying the warm weather. It has become a little cooler today but is forecast to warm up again as we approach the weekend and our walk on Saturday 12th July will start in Bardney . The walk will be lead by Andrew MacDonald and is taking place in Limewood Walks, Bardney
This is a completely flat circular walk with no stiles.
Drive to Bardney, go down Church Lane, opposite the war memorial, past St Lawrence's Church, and park on the street there. There is a Methodist Church on the right. (16 Church lane) We will start walking as the road bends sharply right and turn left along the public footpath. We will follow the path behind a row of houses to a junction with a bridleway. Then we will follow the bridleway straight on along the edge of Southrey Wood.

The walk is less than seven miles and should be no longer than four and a half hours. Near the end there will be a small detour to see the ruins of Bardney Abbey. On the attached screenshot we will walk points 1-4 and then 9-12. We miss out 5-8 to make the walk a reasonable length. It is a lovely walk over flat country and goes through lovely woods in the first half. We start and finish in Bardney'.

For those of you departing from Lincoln please arrive at the Methodist Church on the Burton Road at 9.20am to ensure a punctual departure at 9.30am. For those of you heading straight to Bardney, please ensure you arrive there by 10:15am. As always, please wear clothing appropriate for the weather and footwear appropriate for the terrain, and please bring a pack lunch and drinks with you. Given the heat, I would recommend that walkers wear sun protection factor (SPF) 30 cream to reduce the risk of sun burn.
